Aamir is preparing a research paper. He needs to insert a parenthetical reference that gives credit to the source of a quotation. What is the best way for him to achieve this?

Aamir can use the author-date citation system, which is commonly used in research papers. In this system, the author's last name and the publication date are included in parentheses after the quotation. For example:

"Quotation" (Smith, 2010).

If the author's name is already mentioned in the text, only the publication date needs to be included in parentheses. For example:

Smith (2010) stated, "quotation."

If the source has multiple authors, all of their last names should be included in the citation. For example:

"Quotation" (Smith, Johnson, & Lee, 2015).

Aamir should also include a reference list at the end of his paper that includes all of the sources he cited in his paper. The reference list should include the author's name, publication date, title of the work, and publication information.
