Ok I just have a general question that I've been wondering for a while...

Why do batteries (like AA and AAA) become corroded? And also how can I clean it up (safely in regards to my heath) without damaging the electronic that needs the batteries if its covered in corrosion (like a TV remote or wii controller)?

Answer: Corrosion is caused by a completely expected chemical reaction due to hydrogen gas building pressure and ultimately needing to escape from inside a battery.

Use white vinegar or lemon juice: Most household batteries contain bases, so acids will neutralize their discharge. Rubbing alcohol: Isopropyl alcohol is a safe and effective way to clean electronics without leaving behind moisture and other residue.

Hope this helps with your questions! :D
