Answer:

B

Explanation:

the area (A) of a trapezoid is calculated as

A =
(1)/(2) h (b₁ + b₂)

where h is the perpendicular height between the bases b₁ and b₂

the endpoints of b₁ are (- 2, - 2) and (8, - 2)

since the y- coordinates are equal then b₁ is the difference of the x- coordinates, that is

b₁ = 8 - (- 2) = 8 + 2 = 10

similarly for b₂ with endpoints (2, 3) and (6, 3) , then

b₂ = 6 - 2 = 4

h = 5 ( perpendicular distance between the bases ) , then

A =
(1)/(2) × 5 × (10 + 4) = 2.5 × 14 = 35 units²
