Absolute values are ALWAYS POSITIVE no matter if it's negative inside, this means | 1 | = 1 and | -1 | = 1. But, if the absolute value is negative on the outside such as -| 1 | this would be -1, therefore -| 1 | = -1 and -| -1 | = -1. Also, 1/3 is 0.333333333334 as a decimal and 1/5 is 0.20 as a decimal, therefore 3
