Read the following excerpt of a sonnet by William Shakespeare:

What is your substance, whereof are you made,
That millions of strange shadows on you tend?
Since every one hath, every one, one shade,
And you but one, can every shadow lend.
****
"Sonnet 53," William Shakespeare
What is the rhyme scheme of this passage?

B: abab

Just look at the last word of each line:

made

tend

shade

lend

"made" is a because it is first.

"tend" doesn't rhyme with "shade," so that is b.

"shade" rhymes with "made," so it is a.

"lend" rhymes with "tend," so it is b.

abab

hope this helped :)
