It is NOT acceptable to leave patients unattended on a treatment table, regardless of their age or alertness. Patients should always be monitored and attended to while they are on a treatment table, as accidents or medical emergencies can occur at any time. In addition, leaving patients unattended can lead to legal and ethical issues, as it is considered a breach of the duty of care that healthcare providers owe to their patients.
