Stella is designing a new board game, and is trying to figure out all the possible outcomes. How many different possible outcomes are there if she rolls a fair die in the shape of a pyramid that has four sides labeled 1 to 4, spins a spinner with three equal-sized sections labeled Walk, Run, Stop, and spins a spinner with 5 equal-sized sections labeled Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday?

Answer:

  • 60 outcomes

-----------------------

To calculate the total number of possible outcomes we need to multiply the number of options for each component (die, first spinner, second spinner).

For the first component we have 4 options, for the second component- 3 options and for the third component- 5 options.

Therefore, the total number of possible outcomes is:

  • 4 × 3 × 5 = 60 different possible outcomes
