If the diagonals of a quadrilateral bisect each other, then the quadrilateral is a parallelgram

That statement is false. A quadrilateral whose diagonals bisect each other is not necessarily a parallelogram. A rhombus, for example, has diagonals that bisect each other, but it is not a parallelogram.
