Answer:

Plot the points on the graphing calculator.

x = points scored in rookie season

y = points scored in entire career

Linear regression model:

y = 6.5828x + 17,664.5304

r^2 = .76, r = .8718

Quadratic regression model:

y = .004856x^2 - 7.5754x + 26,232.0899

R^2 = .8766

Either model would work, but I would choose a quadratic regression model because the coefficient of determination in the quadratic regression model is greater than the coefficient of determination in the linear regression model.
