The amplitude of a longitudinal wave in a slinky toy increases by a factor of five. What happens to the energy of the wave in the toy?

energy increases by factor of 25

since the energy of a longitudinal wave is directly proportional to the amplitude of the wave by a factor of a square( if amplitude is multiplied by 3 then the energy is multiplied by 3 squared which is 9 times)
