the answer is 76.

with problems like this, you have to break it down. first you see there’s a rectangle in the center of this shape. just focus on the rectangle first. the rectangles’ length is 8 while the width is 7. to find the area of a rectangle it’s width x length which in this case is 8x7 which = 56. you then focus on the triangles, first, the top one. the base of the triangle is 8 while the height of it is 2. the area of a triangle is base x height divided by 2, so it’s 8x2=16, and then 16/2=8 so the area of that triangle is 8. same for the bottom, base is 8 but height is 3, 8x3=24 & 24/2= 12. so the area of that one is 12. now you add all your areas together. 56+8+12 =76

Answer:

Explanation:

Area =
(1)/(2)* b * h + l * b + (1)/(2)*b*h\\ =(1)/(2)*8*2 + 7 * 8 + (1)/(2)*8*3\\= 8 + 56 + 12\\= 20 + 56\\= 76
