The equation for a slope is Rise/Run or (y2- y1)/(x2 - x1)

1. We can use points (6,0) as x1, y1 AND point (4,30) as x2, y2.
2. Plug into equation
(30-0)/(4-6) = 30/-2 = -15

Therefore -15 would be the slope.

to get the equation of any straight line, we simply need two points off of it, let's use those two in the picture below.

(\stackrel{x_1}{2}~,~\stackrel{y_1}{60})\qquad (\stackrel{x_2}{4}~,~\stackrel{y_2}{30}) ~\hfill \stackrel{slope}{m}\implies \cfrac{\stackrel{\textit{\large rise}} {\stackrel{y_2}{30}-\stackrel{y1}{60}}}{\underset{\textit{\large run}} {\underset{x_2}{4}-\underset{x_1}{2}}} \implies \cfrac{ -30 }{ 2 } \implies - 15
