Answer:

the answer is X

X^(m-3) ÷ X^(m-4).

( for division you subtract in indices)

= X^(m-3)-(m-4)

Note: open the bracket with the the minus sign

=X^(m-3-m+4)

= collect the like terms X^(m-m-3+4)

= X^(0+1)

=X^1

=X
