The place where it rains the most on Earth is Mawsynram, a village in the Indian state of Meghalaya. It receives an average of about 467 inches (11,871 millimeters) of rainfall annually. The reason why it rains so much in Mawsynram is due to its location. The village is located in the Khasi Hills, which are part of the Garo-Khasi range in the northeast region of India. This region receives strong monsoon winds that bring moist air from the Bay of Bengal, causing heavy rainfall. Additionally, the hills and mountains in the area cause the moist air to rise, cool and condense, resulting in even more rain
