Lana is deciding whether to buy a pool pass for the summer.

A pass costs $40.00 and $1.00 for admission each day. Without a pass, the cost is $5.00 per day.
Use the system of equations below to find out the number of days, d, for which the cost will be the same whether she decides to get a pass or not. Show your work.
c = d + 40
c = 5d

To find the number of days for which the cost will be the same
Equate c=d+40 into c=5d
5d=d+40
Collect like terms
5d-d=40
4d=40
d=40/4
d=10
