1. Mouth: Food is ingested and broken down by chewing and mixed with saliva.

2. Pharynx: The food is then pushed down through the throat and into the esophagus.

3. Esophagus: The food is transported down to the stomach through esophageal contractions.

4. Stomach: The food is then mixed with digestive enzymes and broken down further.

5. Small intestine:

i. Duodenum: The first part of the small intestine where chyme from the stomach is mixed with bile juice and digestive enzymes.

ii. Jejunum: The second part of the small intestine responsible for absorption of nutrients.

iii. Ileum: The final part of the small intestine which absorbs vitamin B12 and reabsorbs bile salts.

6. Large Intestine:

i. Cecum: The first part of the large intestine where residual food is received from the ileum.

ii. Ascending Colon: A segment of the colon extending upward on the right side of the abdomen.

iii. Transverse Colon: The middle and longest part of the colon, crosses the abdomen from right to left.
