Answer:

Yes, I agree when Anne Frank says that she is fortunate to have a hiding place. She was living in violent times when many Jews were being brutally murdered. Luckily for the Franks and a few other people, they were relatively safe compared to many other Jews because they had a hiding place. Most of their Jewish friends were still out there and in grave danger, perhaps already killed, while she was (relatively) safe with her family and in hiding. That is why she considered herself very fortunate to have a hiding place.

Anne Frank also states that she felt "wicked" for being able to sleep in a warm bed while her friends were dropping from exhaustion and being tortured. This makes her feel both guilty and grateful, and she acknowledges that she is very fortunate.

quote from the book: "We’re so fortunate here, away from the turmoil. We wouldn’t have to give a moment’s thought to all this suffering if it weren’t for the fact that we’re so worried about those we hold dear, whom we can no longer help. I feel wicked sleeping in a warm bed, while somewhere out there my dearest friends are dropping from exhaustion or being knocked to the ground."
