x = 7

Explanation:

looking at the vertical sides, the ratio is 25 : 20 which can be simplified to 5 : 4.

25 = 20 X 1.25.

so the sides of the top shape are 5/4 = 1.25 times longer then the side on the bottom shape.

5x-5 = 1.25 X 24 = 30

we now have 5x - 5 = 30

add 5 to both sides of the equation

5x = 35

divide by 5

x = 7
