The surface area of a rectangular prism is 48 square feet. The area of its front is 4 square feet, and the area of one side is 10 square feet. What is the area of the of the prism?

Answer:

A rectangular prism is a 3D shape. Unfortunately, you can't have an "area" of a 3D shape, so I'm going to assume you want volume. The volume of the prism will be 20ft^3.

Explanation:

The dimensions of the prism are 2ft wide, 2ft tall, and 5 ft long.

2(2x5)= 20 for Length x width

2(2x5)= 20 for Length x height

2(2x2) = 8 for width x height

20+20+8=48, which is your surface area.

Now, multiply your original dimensions to find the volume of 20ft^3.
