Calculate: (Remember to always check for temperature in Kelvin.) 1. At a volume of 44.1 mL and a pressure of 101.3 kPa, the air in a cylinder has a temperature of 0°C. What happens to the temperature when the volume of the cylinder is expanded to 60.0 mL (at the same pressure)?

the temp increases to 371.63k or 98.48°c

p1v1/t1=p2v2/t2

cancel out p because it stays constant

0.0441L/273.15k=0.060L/t2

manipulate the equation so that t2=v2/(v1/t1)

0.060L/1.614L/k=371.63k

temperature and volume are directly proportional, if volume increases, temperature increases and vice versa
