Jacques Charles (the man behind Charles' Law) discovered this relationship when experimenting with balloons. He had 5 balloons each containing 1.0 L of a different gas. When he heated the balloons to 180°F, they all expanded to each fill 1.2 L of space. At what temperature (in °F) did he have the balloons before the experiment?

Answer:

73°f

Step-by-step explanation:

v1/t1=v2/t2

180°f=355.37k

1L/t1=1.2L/355.37k

1L/t1=.00338L/k

multiply both sides by t1 and divide both by .00338k

t1=296.14k

convert back to f

296.14k=73.4°f

round for sig figs giving 73°f
