Tissues are a group or layer of cells that work together to perform a specific function. There are 4 basic types of tissue: connective tissue, epithelial tissue, muscle tissue, and nervous tissue. Epithelial tissues form the covering of all body surfaces, line body cavities and hollow organs, and are the major tissue in glands.



Organs are a part of the body that performs a specific function. For example, the heart is an organ. An organ is a group of tissues that has a unique purpose. They perform vital life-supporting functions, like pumping blood or eliminating toxins. Many resources state that there are 79 known organs in the human body. Together, these structures keep us alive
