In the novel "The Great Gatsby" by F. Scott Fitzgerald, George Wilson, the husband of Myrtle Wilson, believed that Jay Gatsby was the one who killed his wife.

Tom Buchanan told George Wilson that it was Gatsby who owned the car and was driving it when Myrtle was hit and killed. Tom had learned this information from Daisy, who was driving the car at the time of the accident but was too shaken to tell the truth.

After finding out that Gatsby was the one who owned the car and was driving it when Myrtle was killed, George Wilson went to Gatsby's mansion and shot him before turning the gun on himself, leading to the tragic end of both men.
