Answer:

The answer is d: (x+2)(x-6)

Explanation:

x^(2) - 4x - 12

x^(2) being a,
- 4x being b, and
-12 being c

Step 1 is to figure out what two numbers can add to b while also multiplying to c

Those two numbers for this equation are
-6 and
2

x^(2) + 2x - 6x - 12

Then we factor it down

x(x+2) and
-6(x+2)

The outside properties go in their own parenthesis

(x - 6)

and the Inside ones are already one object

(x+2)

Therefore the final product is

(x+2)(x-6)
