How does raising
livestock contribute to global warming?

Raising livestock requires land. For land to be present, trees must be cut down to clear space for the livestock; thus, effectively reducing carbon sinks and contributing to global warming (fewer trees = less CO2 being stored in plants = more CO2 in the atmosphere = global warming contribution).
