system of equations:

n + d = 150

.05n + .10d = 12.50

let n = '150 - d' and substitute this into the second equation

.05(150-d) + .10d = 12.5

7.5 - .05d + .10d = 12.5

.05d = 5

d = 5/.05

d = 100

n = 50
