Find an object that is no longer useful.
It may be broken, have a hole, or missing a part.
It may be garbage like a plastic sack, milk carton, egg carton, or cardboard box.
It may be something that no longer fits like a shirt, pants, or shoes.
It may be an empty spaghetti jar, plastic container, or cereal box.
Ask permission to use the old or used object.
Brainstorm possible new uses for this object (if you are deciding between multiple objects you may want to think of ideas for all of them).
Old jeans could be made into new purses.
Old cardboard cartons could be made into a birdfeeder or pencil holder.
Old jars could become a flower vase.
Old bubble wrap could be used to make a new padded envelope.
Old plastic bags could become a new chandelier.
Old flip-flops could be cut to be new stamps.
Old cereal boxes could be made into a piñata.
What ideas can you think of?

Neatness. Take your time making the item so it does not end up sloppy.
How useful the item is. Make sure you would really use this new item.
Improvement. Improve the item by making it special not just changing the “use”. (i.e. If you are turning a jar into a flower pot you need to improve the jar by decorating it first)
