FALSE.
The client should ideally participate actively in all phases of the professional services including assessment and planning.
While the professional may adopt a directive approach during assessment to quickly evaluate the requirements, the planning phase in particular should be highly collaborative and client-centric.
The client's objectives, preferences, constraints and project priorities should drive the planning process to ensure the solutions meet the key business goals.
The client's involvement and direction is crucial for developing a comprehensive and optimized solution roadmap.
