Kinetic energy is the energy associated with the motion of an object, while Potential energy is the energy associated with the position or configuration of an object or system.

An example of kinetic energy is a moving car. When a car is moving, it has kinetic energy. The kinetic energy is directly proportional to the speed of the car. Therefore if the car is moving faster, it has more kinetic energy compared to a car moving at a slower speed.

An example of potential energy is a roller coaster car at the top of a hill. At the top of the hill, the roller coaster car has a significant amount of potential energy due to its position. When the car is released, it will convert some of its potential energy into kinetic energy as it begins to move downhill, and it gains speed.
