21 for the first one, 144 for the second

Explanation:

If you're seeing the same problem I am in class, the rule is: N + 9

N is equal to 12 in this equation

12 + 9 is 21.

So, the answer is 21

If there is a second problem, like there is for the one I'm seeing, then this is the answer for that-

Is 12(12)= 144
