bicycle due north at 16 kilometers per hour. If they left from the same point at
the same time, how far apart will they be after 3 hours?

Answer:

they will be 60 kilometers apart.

Explanation:

well you use pythagorean theorem

12 × 3

=36

16 × 3

=48

pythagorean theorem states that:

a²+b²=c²

so

48² + 36² =3600

then, because c is squared, you just square root it

√3600 = 60
