The red dot is the center. The pink is how, long/many boxes.. it is/are there..for the arrow line to reach the point where the other likes meet. Vertical lines are Y and Horizontal lines are X. In fractions. Y is over X always. So if the arrow is going up or down then the # of boxes you count going up is your Y. In this case.. the Y is 2. Because it only takes two boxes going up until the arrow reach this the corner of of the boxes. And X is 1 because it only takes one box to the left to get to the corner. Basically it is 2/1 (2 over 1) but since 1 is the denominator then the number on top (2) is a whole #. That is why the answer to your question is 2x
