In Texas, there is no age limit for running for the Texas Supreme Court. Therefore, the 80-year-old retired judge who had previously served as judge on a county-level court for 20 years would be eligible to run for a position on the Texas Supreme Court, provided he or she meets other requirements such as being a resident of Texas and licensed to practice law in the state.
