On June 24th, 1950, Kim ll-sung ordered his troops across the 38th parallel into South Korean territory. His goal was to unify the entire peninsula and create a new communist Korea. The Korean War had begun. The Korean War solidified America’s role as the world’s leader against communist aggression. Do you feel that the US was justified in intervening in the Korean war? The U.S had many motives to have intervene in the war. The united states was correct in intervening in the Korean war because they feared if a nation falled to communism then other nearby nations might do the same. Tensions regarding communism were at an all time high and not intervening in the fight agaisnt communism might have looked bad and incited more fear.
