Let the second fraction be x.

Given, the sum of two fractions is 11/12.

So,

1/4 + x = 11/12

Subtracting 1/4 from both sides, we get

x = 11/12 - 1/4

x = 11/12 - 3/12

x = 8/12

x = 2/3

Therefore, the second fraction is 2/3.
