(f(b)-f(a))/(b-a)

here the interval is 2 ≤ x ≤ 6 , then

f(b) = f(6) = 0 ← point (6, 0 ) on graph

f(a) = f(2) = - 20 ← point (2, - 20 ) on graph , then

average rate of change =
(0-(-20))/(6-2) =
(0+20)/(4) =
(20)/(4) = 5
