OA. To assimilate
George Burns (January 20, 1896 - March 9, 1996), was born Nathan Birnbaum in New York City to immigrant parents. He changed his name because many "stage people" change their names to lose accents or to make them easier to remember or pronounce¹. Therefore, it is likely that Jorge Gonzalez changed his name to George Nathan for similar reasons such as
assimilation
or ease of pronunciation.
