Three softball players discussed their batting averages after a game.

Probability
Player 1 four sevenths
Player 2 six tenths
Player 3 five ninths

Compare the probabilities and interpret the likelihood. Which statement is true?
Player 1 is more likely to hit the ball than Player 2 because P(Player 1) > P(Player 2).
Player 3 is more likely to hit the ball than Player 1 because P(Player 3) > P(Player 1).
Player 2 is more likely to hit the ball than Player 1 because P(Player 2) > P(Player 1).
Player 3 is more likely to hit the ball than Player 2 because P(Player 3) > P(Player 2).

1st question: P1=4/7 P2=6/10
Turn into %
4 / 7 long division gives us 0.571429
0.571429 x 100= 57.14% for P1.
6 / 10 = 0.6
0.6 x 100 = 60%

Q1 is false

Q2:
P3=5/9
P1=4/7
Again, P1 is already found, 57.14%.
P3 = 5 / 9 long division gives 0.555556.
0.555556 x 100 = 55.56%.

Q2 is false

Q3: now that we have all the values it is easy.
P2= 60%
P1= 57.14%

Q3 is true

Q4:
P3= 55.56%
P2= 60%

Q4 is false

In the end.. Q1 false Q2 false Q3 true Q4 false
