So in this problem, you need to solve the parentheses. In the parentheses there is nothing to solve so we move on to exponents. There are no exponents so we move on to division/multiplication. There is a division symbol so we divide left to right.

After dividing 10 / -2 we get an answer of -5. We can now add 4 + -5 to get our final answer of -1
