8 out of 10 times, will you land on a red space. Or you can just say 80% since 8x10 is 80.

Answer:

(8)/(10), or 80% probability

Explanation:

To determine probability, we need to know how many "options" there are. There are 2 white spaces, and 8 red spaces, so we have a total of 10 spaces.

Of those 10 spaces, 8 of them are red. As a fraction, this is
(8)/(10), because 8 parts of the total ten are red.

To change this into a percent, we divide and then multiply by 100%.

(8)/(10)= .8*100%= 80%

If you don't have a calculator, remember that percepts are just a way to show a portion of 100. If we need to multiply 10 by 10 to get the total 100, we must also multiply the top of the fraction, which gives 80.
