Point Prevalence = number of cases/total number of persons

Here, the total population is 30,276, and the number of persons who developed hypertension is 17,620.

That is, the number of cases = 17,620 and the total number of persons = 30,276.

Hence,

Point Prevalence = number of cases/total number of persons

Point Prevalence = 17620/30276

Point Prevalence = 0.582

Point Prevalence = 58.2%

The point prevalence of hypertension among individuals who are prescribed drugs, after the drug’s first year on the market is 58.2%.
