y = mx + b

Since they gave us two points we could use it to find the slope(m) of the equation. The formula to find the slope of the line is:


m=(y_(2) - y_(1) )/(x_(2)-x_(1) )

They gave us the coordinate of the first point: (-2, 6), and the coordinate of the second point: (1, -4)

so, we plug in the x and y values into the slope formula:


m=(-4-6)/(1-(-2))


m=(-11)/(3)
