The equation of a line format is y=mx+c, m being the slope and c being the y intercept.
1) Find the slope.
Pick the starting point and ending point of the line, and note their co-ordinates.
(0,2) (10,7)
The formula for finding the slope is: change in y/change in x
Basically find the difference of the x and y points:
Change in x: 10-0=10
Change in y: 7-2= 5
change in y/change in x
5/10= 1/2
Slope: 1/2
2) Find the y intercept.
Pick any point of the line, i’ll pick (0,2)
y=mx+c
2= 1/2 x 0 +c
2= 0+c
c=2
3) Put all the information in the equation.
Slope: 1/2
y intercept: 2
y= mx+c
y=1/2x+2
(sorry if i’m wrong)
