Explain the stages of growth as described by Wallerstein.

As against Frank's three stages, Wallerstein suggests four stages of the growth of capitalist world system: 1450-1640, 1650-1730, and 1760-1917 and the period of consolidation after 1917. It is noteworthy that, for Wallerstein, capitalism as a system existed from the middle of the 15th century.
