Answer:

Acids have a pH value of less than 7, the closer it is to one, the more acidic they are

e.g. HCL (hydrochloric acid) found in the stomach which has a pH of between 1.5 and 3.5

Alkaline solutions have pH values of over 7 (neither acids nor alkalis have a pH of 7 as it's neutral) and the closer it is to 14, the more alkaline they are

e.g. sodium hydroxide which has a pH of 14
