The engineer who wired some instruments in the wrong way, resulting in no data from a test run conducted by USAF Col. John Paul Stapp, was named "Craven." In response to this incident, Stapp formulated a new law known as "Craven's Law" which states that "the sudden deceleration of a body will subject the body to a force equal to its weight multiplied by the deceleration." This law helped in understanding the effects of high-speed acceleration and deceleration on the human body and led to the development of safer ejection seats for pilots.
