Hooks and spikes help the seeds to stick to the fur or pelts of animals and travel long distances. Useful for spreading over long distances.

Some seeds have hooks and spines so that they will stick to animals with fur. When these animals move around the seeds will fall off. Thus causing the seeds to be further apart
