The cotton gin increased the quality aswell as the output, the cotton gin actually lowed the cost of planting cotton because the cotton gin seperated the seeds and made the seeds less costly so the seeds were easily available wich made a boom in the farming of cotton. that lead too an expansion of land all over the south.
