Answer:

P (momentum) = M * V

V = (2.95^2 + 3.97^2)^1/2 = 4.95 m/s

P = 2.99 kg * 4.95 m/s = 14.8 kg-m/sec total momentum

tan θ = Vy / Vx = -3.97 / 2.95 = -1.35

θ = 53.4 deg below positive x-axis
