Rewrite 6x2 + 2xy + 9x + 3y in factored form. (2x + 3)(3x + y) (2x + y)(3x + 3) (3x + 2)(3x + y) (3x + y)(2x + 1)

Answer is (2x + 3) (3x + y)

Explanation
When this is distributed we get

6x^2 + 2xy + 9x + 3y

So the first set of factors is correct

Answer:

(3x + y)(2x + 3)

Explanation:

Factorizing the expression:

6x² = 2 * 3 * x * x

2xy = 2*x * y

Common factor = 2x.

9x = 3 * 3 * x

3y = 3 * y

Common factor = 3

Take out the common factor 2x from the first and second term & take out the common factor 3 from third and fourth term.

6x² + 2xy + 9x + 3y = 2x(3x + y) + 3(3x + y)

= (3x + y)(2x + 3)
